Who We Are
Smarter Grid Solutions (SGS) began in 2008 as a spin-out company from the University of Strathclyde on the back of 5+ years of collaborative R&D with Utility companies into the challenges of integrating distributed energy resources (DER). SGS grew and expanded into North America with an office and team in New York City. Smarter Grid Solutions was acquired by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and its subsidiary Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) in August 2021. Together, MEPPI and SGS will provide combined distributed energy resources management software and grid control products to enable electric utilities to respond to energy system and maximize the performance from their electric grids.

What We Do
We are a leading enterprise energy management software company specializing in distributed energy resource managements systems (DERMS). We provide world leading DERMS software to Distribution Utilities and DER Owners and Operators across the world. Our diverse team of multi-disciplinary experts use our technology and expertise in electrical, power systems, and software engineering to create some of the most advanced solutions for the rapidly changing power system.
