Problem

SSE Enterprise is seeking to optimize a portfolio of DER assets for a broad range of use cases including ‘on grid’ applications such as microgrids, hosting capacity management and network services. The DERMS requires to integrate to both markets and grids, optimizing a diverse range of DER types and sizes to enable new Energy as a Service business models.

A private cloud-hosted instance of ANM Strata has been installed and integrated with a customer portal, data analytics platform, the balancing market, settlement systems and trading desk.

Multi-use case commercial DERMS supporting new business models and customer propositions.

This exciting new SGS-SSE partnership is a huge step in our ‘smart cities’ vision and will support local authorities, large energy users, and building and estate owners to deploy and manage low carbon technologies in order to meet the UK Government’s net-zero target by 2050. It will also help consumers to minimise both energy costs and exposure to energy price uncertainties while maximising security of supply.
